Auto Industry Trends in 2015

Auto Industry Trends in 2015

The ever-evolving auto industry is an exciting space to play in, but staying up-to-speed can be challenging. As we’re in Q2, we figured this is a great time to explore the trends we’re seeing so far this year. Let’s take a closer look:

Hi-Tech But User-Friendly

While technology has been a major player in the car sales race for years, many auto manufacturers are stepping up their game to meet rising consumer expectations. These state-of-the-art, in-car “infotainment” systems are becoming more and more user-friendly and are resonating with consumers.

Going Green

Despite falling gas prices, auto manufacturers are faced with tough new legislation on fuel economy. Leveraging the latest power-train technologies, Honda and Toyota are both set to introduce green vehicles this year. Not only is Washington encouraging automakers to go green, consumer interest in environmentally friendly vehicles continues to rise.

UTE’s

Demand for the subcompact SUV is expected to continue to rise this year. While SUV’s have been popular for years, the UTE, or utility vehicle, is new to the scene. Models include the Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade. These small but mighty vehicles appeal to city-dwelling millennials who like to have the flexibility to easily navigate urban areas and escape to the great outdoors. You can expect to see UTE’s continue to grow in popularity for years to come.

Targeted Online Advertising

The pressure to remain in the race to drive online auto leads has never been higher. Because the average consumer completes most of their research and comparison shopping online, it is important for dealerships to run targeted online advertising campaigns. Here at Speed Shift Media, we are proud to offer the Auto Audience™ Network, an automated system that is revolutionizing dealership’s display advertising.
